Henderson County Drainage District #3, et al., v. USA
The Henderson County Drainage District 3 and ten other drainage districts along the Mississippi River sued the US Army Corps of Engineers alleging that the Upper Mississippi River Locks and Dams had caused excessive flooding over the levees, seepage through the levees, and caused the soils in their districts to have low crop yields due to the wetness. The case was brought before the US Federal Court of Claims and in 2004 the Court denied in full the claim of $450 million in damages.
